Wonderful 'fall spectacular' weather awaited us this morning for our boat tour.
Everyone was excited to get views of the many palaces and villages around the lake ..AND.. to visit the very pretty town of Bellagio !! Enjoy some early morning views :
Villages on hilltops everywhere .. I'll rattle off some of the neat sounding names .. Cernobbio, Moltrasio, Laglio, Brienno, Schignano, Sala Comacina, Tremezzina, Tremezzo, and the list has 100 more around the lake!
Disembarkation .. walking into town.
up and up and up we go ...
Ran across this sign on the walk down. I guess the composer Franz Liszt .. "here at the Villa Melzi d'Eril in Bellagio, Liszt would walk for hours in the surrounding parkland, breathing in the atmosphere, letting his muse take in the stunning views and hear the music in the air.. "
It was time for lunch so we found a place at the waterfront and ordered a pizza.
Carol- the beer was a 'Peroni Weiss' and the pizza was a 'Diavola 2.0" .. mozzarella fior di latte, nduja di spilinga, crema di olive, olio aromalizzato al basilco.
We enjoyed the views along the waterfront and looking across the lake and looking back at Bellagio.
Before getting on the ferry to go over to the west side of the lake to catch a bus, it was .. gelato time !
Hey - Timothy Lake camping family and friends ..
Instead of driving through Damascus, Boring, Sandy, Rhododendron, and Government Camp, how about instead driving through .. Cernobbio, Rovenna, Laglio, Brienno, Argegno, Colonno, Cadenabbia, and find a camp spot along .. LAKE COMO !! ah come on ..
What a trip so far!! Ama Waterways and Jessi have been excellent hosts and have taken care of us and shown us unbelievable sights!
Now ..we're on our own, hopping on trains in Italy, Switzerland, and France ... yikes!
Ciao!
Augurarci buona fortuna ..

Looking for more details about the treasures you found at the top of those stairs. Maybe you can slow down a bit now that you are your own tour guide.
ReplyDeleteCiao Bella. Multo bene!
ReplyDeleteTook us a while but found the mascot. We walked those same mountain goat stairs when we were there. Might take a little longer today. When do you hit Paris?
ReplyDeleteHi! First- Zermatt, Lucerne, Colmar, then .. Pareeee
DeleteThe picture of Jan with the stairs leading up hill and the overhead walkway connecting the two buildings brings back lots of memories. That connecting walkway is part of the Hotel du Lac which is where we stayed when we were in Bellagio. It is a hallway that connects two parts of the hotel. So glad you had really good weather for that tour.
